More than ever before CIOs are expected to possess world-class leadership skills, insights into the inter-workings of the organization and the creativity needed to leverage sustainable growth and profitability. CIOs must be champions of the enterprise’s vision, strategy and objectives. They must be intimately aware of the culture and how change can be woven seamlessly into the fabric of the environment. 
While the CIOs must keep the day-to-day operations fully supported with reliable and hassle-free technologies, they must also keep a constant eye toward the future. CIOs must continually divine ways to improve the organization’s ability to shift gears, stay nimble and navigate through growing pressures to deliver value to demanding stakeholders; they must become masters of change. They need to avail themselves of leadership programs that hone their executive skill sets, become the perfect blend of operational realist and value-driven strategist and do so without threatening the domain of the CEO and peers.
