Mike Griffiths is an experienced project manager, author and consultant who works for PMI as a subject matter expert. Before joining PMI, Mike consulted and managed innovation and technology projects throughout Europe, North and South America for 30+ years. He was co-lead for the PMBOK Guide—Seventh Edition, lead for the Agile Practice Guide, and contributor to the PMI-ACP and PMP exam content outlines. Since agile project management is closer to leadership best practice than traditional project management, it is useful to search leadership techniques for additional approaches that could also assist on agile projects.
 
James Kouzes and Barry Posner describe five practices and 10 Commitments of Leadership in their book, The Leadership Challenge 

1. Model the Way

  • Find your voice by clarifying your personal values
  • Set an example by aligning actions with shared values

  • Envision the future by imagining exciting and ennobling possibilities
