New Business Intelligence offering from Oracle features role-based intelligence to track project performance.

A new offering from Oracle’s family of Business Intelligence (BI) Applications promises to deliver role-based intelligence to project executives, project and program managers, and project accountants. Oracle Project Analytics can track key project performance metrics throughout a project life cycle and features several pre-packaged and individualized dashboards — from a high-level view for a project executive to one just for those on the ground. There is even one that was created for the public sector or other organizations where business is not driven by profit and margin tracking.
 
Rao Adivikolanu, director of product management/strategy at Oracle, says the information needed by a project manager and, say, a vice-president of professional services, could not be more different. "The project manager, they need something completely project specific," he says, that can drill down into a particular project and get to "the root cause of a project overrun." But that VP, "he needs a completely different view. What are the root causes of delivery problems, who are my best customers?"
