There is a growing roster of iPhone project management apps that could help you take your project mobile. That’s the focus of our latest Cool Tools roundup.

 
I bide my working days (and nights) between a client site and my home office, so the concept of mobility and project management has been on my mind, even more so after I bought my iPhone 3GS. Already, cloud-based project management applications such as LiquidPlanner and Mac project management applications Merlin 2 and SharedPlan Pro, among others, are extending their applications to the iPhone. There is also a class of iPhone project management applications — while a minority in the App Store — offering a surprising range of features and flexibility.
 
Taking a project management application mobile via your iPhone offers a lot of convenience as well as practical considerations. While my mind is wide open to the idea of the mobile project manager, the iPhone applications in this roundup are probably more useful as complementary applications to desktop or cloud-based web project management applications, or as tools for tracking side/freelance projects. I couldn’t imagine managing a large-scale project using just one of these iPhone applications. That said, here’s an introduction to some iPhone project management apps worth checking out.
