Why use Agile methods? What are the biggest adoption challenges? In what environments does Agile succeed and fail? Two Agile advocates provide some answers that can help others making the transition to Agile.

Pollyana Pixton and Roland Cuellar are well-known speakers and advisors in the Agile world, having helped hundreds or organizations successfully implement Agile practices. As part of an ongoing “5 Questions on Agile” series by PM Boulevard, they spoke separately about the real-world benefits and challenges of using Agile methods. Though different experiences and work environments shape their perspectives on Agile, they share several core beliefs that can help inform others making the transition to Agile approaches.

 

Pixton is president of Evolutionary Systems and co-founder of Accelinnova, business consulting firms that provide frameworks for implementing agile practices at senior leadership levels in all types of companies. Pixton has used her models of collaboration to implement large-scale agile projects such as leading the development of the Swiss Electronic Stock Exchange. She is also the director of the Institute for Collaborative Leadership and co-founder the Agile Project Leadership Network where serves as an officer on that board.
