CollabNet Acquires Subversion Hosting Platform
The acquisition marks an aggressive move by CollabNet into cross-platform, Cloud-based developer services.
CollabNet, a provider of Agile application lifecycle management solutions, has acquired Codesion, Inc., which provides the Subversion hosting platform and serves more than 3,400 customers and 70,000 users in 90 countries. The acquisition marks an aggressive move by CollabNet into cross-platform, Cloud-based developer services. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
CollabNet founded the Subversion open source project in 2000 and remains the project's principal sponsor. Codesion's provisioning technology delivers Subversion, Git, and other applications as a Software as a Service (SaaS) offering, helping developers to code, connect and deploy in the Cloud.
"CollabNet's acquisition is a natural fit for Codesion and our customer community," said Guy Marion, chief executive officer, Codesion. "Our users were seeking version control training and best practices around Agile development, which is now available from CollabNet's Subversion developers and Certified Scrum Trainers. A new workgroup-centric version of TeamForge now also provides a free, 'one click' upgrade path to CollabNet's award-winning Agile ALM platform."
