Allianz Eases Project Creation, Control With Collaborative PPM
An IT transformation program at Allianz sought simpler creation and review of project information to let stakeholders resolve project issues more quickly, with more timely and detailed data. Allianz implemented BrightWork's pmPoint solution, leveraging its use of Microsoft Project and SharePoint.
Allianz, a leading global financial services company, was embarking on a major transformation program that would migrate the infrastructure of multiple subsidiaries to the parent company's central data center. This program represented an effort of greater complexity than anything that the current tooling used for program governance and control had previously provided.
The program management office (PMO) in the infrastructure section of Allianz's U.K. subsidiary was challenged to provide accurate and current IT project portfolio information for the program in consolidated views and reports. This posed a major problem for the PMO, which was required to deliver more value-added services to the project and program managers. It had to do additional monitoring and reporting on costs, risks and process quality across a wide variety of project types.
