Results from a survey offer business analysts, project managers, developers and other project stakeholders information to help transform the way they produce and manage software requirements.

Results from an industry survey on requirements management reveal the growing need to incorporate customer feedback, the mounting complexity of development projects, and an increase in continuous specification changes as critical issues affecting software and hardware development professionals involved in application requirements elicitation, specification and management.

“Requirements management has grown in response to the increasingly complex, iterative and collaborative needs of software development, which is reflected in the number of participants who contributed to this year’s survey — more than three times as many as our 2008 edition,” said Eric Winquist, CEO of Jama Software, which conducted the survey with Ravenflow. Both companies are providers of requirements management solutions.
