House Caucus to Study PM Role
A new Government Efficiency Caucus will bring together members of Congress and private sector experts to discuss the role that project management can play in improving government operations and saving money.
Rep. Todd Young (R-IN) and Rep. Jim Matheson (D-UT) are launching a bipartisan House caucus to explore best practices used by project managers in the private sector that can be adapted for use by the federal government.
The new Government Efficiency Caucus will bring together members of Congress and private sector experts to discuss the role that effective program managers can play in improving government operations and saving money.
“Private companies have developed project management experience that enables them to save time and money in their drive to remain competitive in a global market,” Matheson said. “I continue to look at everything in the federal budget as we work to cut spending and eliminate waste and duplication and I’m convinced that we can learn from their experience. The goal of the Government Efficiency Caucus is to do just that.”
The Project Management Institute (PMI) will serve as a resource for the Caucus, providing research and data that supports the Caucus's objective to improve government operations and save money.
