PMI Names Project-of-Year Finalists
Project Management Institute has chosen the finalists for its annual Project of the Year award and will announce the winner at next month’s 2013 Global Congress in New Orleans. Nominees successfully addressed a severe water shortage, pediatric care logistics, and cleaning hazardous materials.
What makes a great project? Is it just a project that comes in on time, on budget, within scope and with good quality? One that delivers value to customers and stakeholders? Or one that advances an organization’s strategic plans? Is greatness shown by the flexibility of project managers to deal with stakeholders’ necessary last-minute scope changes — and still meet all the criteria of success?
Project Management Institute (PMI) says a great project is all of the above, and honors great projects each year with the Project of the Year Award. The PMI Project of the Year Award is the industry’s most prestigious distinction, paying tribute to groundbreaking projects that demonstrate superior performance, exemplary implementation and innovative processes to achieve their business goals. This year’s three finalists are:
