Risk Authors Win Top PMI Honor

The authors of a book on risk management have been recognized by PMI for advancing project management knowledge, concepts and practices.

David Hillson and Peter Simon were recently presented with the 2013 PMI David I. Cleland Project Management Literature Award for their book Practical Project Risk Management: The ATOM Methodology, Second Edition, published by Management Concepts Press.

Hillson, a regular contributor to ProjectsAtWork.com, is a thought-leader in risk management and is widely known at The Risk Doctor. He consults in more than 40 countries and across the construction, telecommunications, pharmaceutical, transport, energy, information technology, defense and government industries. He has written nine books on the topic of risk, in addition to contributing to several others. Hillson was elected a PMI Fellow in 2010 and received the PMI Eric Jenett PM Excellence Award in 2011 and the PMI Distinguished Contribution Award in 2002.

Simon is a director of Lucidus Consulting Ltd., and has more than 30 years of experience as a project and program management consultant and practitioner across all industries and business sectors. He is a Visiting Fellow at Cranfield School of Management and an adjunct professor at ESCP Business School —London.
