New Practice Guide on Complexity

A new guide from Project Management Institute helps practitioners and organizations understand and address complexity in projects, including sections on alignment, behavior, standards and developing an action plan.

Project Management Institute (PMI) has released Navigating Complexity: A Practice Guide. Developed for program and project managers at all levels of experience, the guide is an expansion of and companion to information provided in PMI’s four foundational standards, including the latest edition of A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK Guide), The Standard for Program Management, The Standard for Portfolio Management, and Organizational Project Management Maturity Model (OPM3), in addition to the PMI Lexicon of Project Management Terms.

“As the culmination of PMI’s extensive research on complexity, this new guide draws on relevant literature and real practitioner experience to provide an actionable roadmap to project success for organizations undertaking more complex, resource-intensive projects and programs,” said PMI president and CEO Mark Langley.
