ProjectMan and ProjectWoman to the Rescue!
ProjectMan and ProjectWoman (hey, this may be silly, but it’s politically correct) sat down for dinner and reflected on another day protecting the world. This had been a day much like any other--juggling constraints, avoiding evil stakeholder delays, wrangling the endless swarms of change requests and making sure that all of the good deliverables of ProjectTown got to where they needed to be--on time and on budget.
ProjectMan looked across at his wife and her perfectly coiffed hair, marveling that not a single strand was out of place despite all of the status reports and updates that she had completed that day. ProjectWoman looked back at her husband and his chiseled jaw--and felt good that a jaw like that would instill confidence in nervous customers and worried team members alike.
There was no doubt about it--the world was a better place because of these two superheroes. But something was troubling ProjectMan. He looked across at his wife and said, “Darling, you know that tomorrow is November 6th, 2014 right?” ProjectWoman confirmed that yes, she was aware of that, but what was the point? “Well it’s International Project Management, or IPM Day,” said ProjectMan. “I was thinking perhaps that we should let the world know of all of the good that we have been doing. You know, tell people how important project managers are.&
