QSM Updates Software Almanac

The new edition, the first update since 2006, provides project managers and executive management with the latest data and research on the state of software development, including an extensive focus on agile methodology.

Quantitative Software Management (QSM), a provider of software process improvement and systems development estimation tools and resources, has released the 2014 version of its Software Almanac. The Almanac provides industry leaders with a single resource for examining and analyzing demographics, core metrics, agile methodology, long term planning and trends in software development. The QSM Software Almanac was last released in 2006.   

Re-released due to a rise in demand from customers, the database content is derived from the QSM Metrics Database, drawing data from more than10,000 completed software projects from North and South America, Australia, Europe, Africa and Asia, representing over 740 million lines of code, 600-plus development languages, and 105,833 person years of effort.

This year’s Almanac focuses extensively on agile methodology, an area that has generated increased interest since the 2006 release, with a specific focus on projects completed in the past five years.  It also includes an updated long-term trends analysis of the QSM Metrics Database and includes new tables for both function points…
