How Agile is Your PMI Chapter?
Last fall, I posed this question to a few of the PMI Central Ohio Chapter‘s (PMICOC) Board members. Why would I ask such a question? I am Jennifer Bleen, co-founder and President of the Central Ohio Agile Association (COHAA) and a PMI Agile Community of Practice Chapter Engagement Representative (CoP CER).
I became involved with the PMI’s global Agile Community of Practice within its first few months of inception. In 2010, I was named PMICOC’s Agile CoP CER. As one of the first Agile CoP CERs, I have executed a five-step approach to bring agility to my chapter--and encourage you to assist withyours.
This included making it as easy as possible for the team to provide support. In the beginning, the leadership team was not aware of PMI’s Agile CoP nor understood why PMI had one. To educate the team, I attended a couple PMICOC Board of Director meetings to let the leadership team know about PMI’s Agile CoP, my role in assisting them and obtain their support.
I created a slide with Agile CoP information and obtained permission to include in the event meeting slide deck. The chapter began receiving inquiries about agile project
