My Experience in Passing the PMI-ACP Exam
In the last few years, the popularity of agile methodologies in the whole world grew dramatically. It is especially true for the software development field. But even knowing this, I could not imagine that in autumn of 2011 on the PMI site I would see the new certification program PMI-ACP (Agile Certified Practitioner). To say that it made me happy is to say nothing. PMI, that by decades was the bulwark of the conservative waterfall approach and associated with white collars only, decided to open its doors for the growing popularity of the agile movement. Welcome on board.
PMI alludes to research, conducted by Gartner, according to which by the end of 2012 the stake of agile software development will be equal to 80. The other research conducted showed that for the period from 2008 to 2011, the number of projects using agile was tripled! Wow!
Why did I decide to achieve PMI-ACP?
A certification is quite valuable, as well as other certification programs from PMI. Requirements for the applicants are high, and the final test (checked myself) is complex enough. You really have to be an agile ninja to pass it without preparation. It is necessary to remember the classic PMP, which is considered one of the most prestigious certificates in the world in the field of project management.
