Projects require social collaboration in order to be successful. It is up to project managers to determine how to make this system operate as functionally and efficiently as possible. In order to accomplish that, project managers must gain an understanding of what motivates their team and how they interact with one another and the technology at hand in order to help the team feel in control of and a sense of ownership over their projects, as well as be able to collaborate and share progress with one another. Once a team has come together to collaborate on a project and can seamlessly share ideas, documents, conversations and more in one central place, there is ample opportunity for project success and growth.

With more and more companies having employees that work remotely or in several offices around the world, social collaboration is more important than ever. Project collaboration means employees are working on a project together, as well as ensuring that they have the necessary tools at their disposal to accomplish their tasks. When the project manager is in one office and the team may be scattered throughout other locations, being able to have the same accessibility to projects and information is crucial.
