The ninth annual State of Agile survey from VersionOne finds the top three benefits of practicing agile remain the ability to manage changing priorities, team productivity, and project visibility.

Agile lifecycle management solutions provider VersionOne has released the results of its ninth annual State of Agile survey, which collects feedback from agile practitioners to help the agile software community make smarter decisions about its software delivery process.

This year's State of Agile survey found that agile continues to gain momentum. In fact, 94 percent of the organizations surveyed are practicing agile. The survey also found plenty of evidence that agile works. For the fourth year in a row, the top three benefits of agile development remain: ability to manage changing priorities, team productivity, and project visibility. Furthermore, 53 percent of respondents said the majority, if not all, of their agile projects have been successful.

The survey shares insights on the most popular agile tools, tips on scaling agile, how to measure agile success, and much more. For instance, in a year-over-year comparison, the respondents' future plans to use various agile project management tools doubled in every category.
