In Celebration of Project Management
As I write this, I am sitting in Phoenix waiting for my plane to fly home from the final ProjectManagement.com “Building the Hybrid PMO” workshop of the year. It’s been a great year and has really reinforced for me the importance of a well-managed, well-mandated PMO for successful organizations.
During a break in the workshop, I also recorded a five-minute video on “Why people should care about project management” that will be available later in the year, and that got me thinking about just how critical project management itself is to successful organizations.
I fundamentally knew these things of course, just as you all do; but sometimes we need to remind ourselves. That’s what I want to do in this article--to celebrate the 2015 International Project Management (IPM) Day, I want to just recognize some of the great things project management is doing. No tough love, no recommendations for making things better, just a celebration of one of the greatest disciplines I could ever imagine being a part of.
The enabler of organizational growth
