As we look at 2015 in our rear-view mirrors, it is nearly impossible not to realize the cross-industry implications that digital disruption has had and will continue to have in the next few years. Over 50 percent of executives believe that they will have to deal with competition (non-traditional) that appears from outside their industry.

This is already happening! While some see digital disruption as an existential threat (and it is), others that are well informed now view this as a huge opportunity. The impact of digital disruption must not be underestimated. There is no industry, no company or government that is impervious to the issues and opportunities of digital disruption.

Developing a strategy and operational response appropriate to digital disruption is the No. 1 near-term challenge facing all organizations regardless of size and industry. Even governments are being impacted and will be require to rapidly develop and implement an appropriate response when it comes to policy!
