2016 CIO Success Guide

It is hard to believe that 2016 is almost half way over. And as it is with all election, mega El Nino and global uncertainty years, 2016 has already been a year of volatility, chaos and change. Depending on the industry you are in, 2016 could be a year of broad growth or one of recessionary downturn.

Last year, the key factors for achieving success for CIOs with larger IT organizations included:

  • effectively protect the organization against cybercrime attacks
  • rationally integrate cloud computing into the fabric of the IT landscape
  • intelligently leverage the benefits of social and mobile computing and other devices
  • responsibly plan the future of their data centers
  • strategically approach the impact of digital computing
  • successfully deploy data analytics to solve complex business challenges

As it was with 2015, these factors remain critical to the success of CIOs. So, is it getting easier or harder to enjoy long-term success as a CIO these days? Has 2016 placed greater demands on CIOs, or is it a repeat of the last few years?
