A Better World through Project Management
The world can be a scary place at times. You only have to turn on a TV news program or visit a news website and you’ll learn of some recent tragedy or some threat to our peace of mind and stability. In this “always on” world, these things are constantly forced on us, knocked off the front page only when there is some celebrity scandal (because it’s better for ratings). It’s easy to become bitter and jaded about the world, but every now and then we need to take a step back from all of that negativity and focus on some of the positives.
November 3rd is International Project Management (or IPM Day), the first Thursday in November when we are encouraged to take a few moments to recognize the achievements of project management, project managers and project teams. So let’s do that, and let’s do it by taking a more positive view of some world events. For most of us, project management is simply a career choice where we try and make a bit more of a difference to our organizations. For a few, project management is making the world a better place.
