Renewing a Commitment
Commitments are not to be taken lightly. If you work for a company or have been assigned to a project, you have a commitment to that organization. While responsibilities and roles change over time, the commitment should be followed through as much as possible. Your devotion to your commitments and work assignments are what will make you stand out in the crowd—and help you move on to other things when the time is right.
As time goes on though, you may come to a point where you need to renew that commitment.
Reaching the Bottom
If you find yourself doing just about anything except the work you need to do, or if you realize that you have not looked at the project at all in several days, you might have reached the point where you need to evaluate your commitment and why it has lagged. The project might have gotten to a point where the work is boring, or there are issues preventing you from moving forward that you have no control over. Perhaps you have just come to a point where you are no longer as interested in the challenge and you want to do something different. All of these tell you that it’s time to renew the commitment.
The Original Commitment
You need to review the original commitment you made. As time goes on, memories fade and you may not remember all that was entailed. In addition, the people around you probably have short memories. It can be good
