A Globally Focused Recovery (Part 1)
This is the first of a two-part article I am going to be writing looking at how a globally operating organization can leverage that multi-location presence to deliver a more effective and efficient recovery. In this first piece, I am going to set the context and consider the variables an organization must prepare for. In the second, I will look more specifically at projects and the work PMs must do to make such an approach successful.
There isn’t a business anywhere in the world that hasn’t been impacted in some way by COVID-19. The nature and extent of the impact has varied considerably across industries and regions, but all businesses are faced with the need to try and recover their operations as quickly as possible when the pandemic begins to subside. It won’t be a return to business as usual pre-pandemic, but it will be the defining a new normal and then figuring out how to build a successful organization in that environment.
And the key to being successful is to be able to implement that recovery as quickly as possible—to shift the focus back to running a successful business and then growing from that revised strategic starting point.
