Online training and development programs have seen something of a boom so far this year. That’s not really surprising. In-person training and education has obviously been significantly curtailed, and many people have found themselves with more time on their hands than they expected, allowing them to pursue some of those training courses that they have been meaning to take for a while.

Add to that the initiatives that many training providers have put in place to make much of their content available without charge, and it’s easy to understand why so many people are taking so many development programs.

But getting the certificate that confirms you completed a series of online lessons isn’t the end of it…it’s only the start. And as the world slowly begins to return to a new normal, it’s time to take the next step—building on that foundation with practical experience and adjustments to career goals. That’s what I want to look at in this piece.
