The employment market today is what many of the buzzword specialists would call "dynamic"--make that with a capital D. Companies are not only competing for your skill set, and even, in many cases, giving you the luxury of naming your geographic location. Your only real challenge is having to do your research on what you are looking for and where to find it.

In order to begin your search, you will need first to establish what it is you are looking for in your next career move. Let’s assume right off the bat that a position offering "cutting edge technology, challenges, career growth and competitive benefits" is a given. Now let’s talk about what you really want out of your next job and company. Are you looking for a warmer climate with paid relocation, an entrepreneurial "start up" firm, flex hours, company car, casual dress? All of these things may seem trivial at first, but these factors can be huge contributors to your job satisfaction.

Now that you have given yourself a brief job outline, let’s break down the most important avenues along which to search. First, there are the newspaper ads. Frankly, this is getting a little old, especially if you have a technical skill set or if you are a project manager.
