Do You Exhibit the Traits of a Difference Maker?
Ever wonder why some people seem always ready to jump into action, rise to the occasion, and always seem to get the job done? I call these people difference makers. Maybe you are one of these folks, or perhaps you know someone who fits this profile. This article explores the behaviors, traits and attributes of difference makers.
In my book The Helix Method (available free on request), Factor #1 is titled “The Principle of Making a Difference.” Here is an excerpt:
“We all make a difference! The kind of difference we make is up to us.
How many times have you heard people say, ‘You can’t make a difference, so why try?’ Listen, We All Make a Difference. The only question lies in what kind of difference we will make. Will we make a positive difference in the lives of people and organizations we work with each day or a negative one? Our presence or absence in a situation can alter the outcome of that situation. Even if we are oblivious to our impact, the impact is still there. However, making consistently positive differences is a matter of persistent and conscious intent. This means that we enter into situations with the awareness and desire to add value to the outcome we influence. With this mindset in place, the chances of success are increased tenfold.
