This will be my last feature article as the Program Management Office subject matter expert. As times change, my job at Tanning is providing some new opportunities and challenges requiring all my energy. So I recently let the folks at gantthead know that I can't afford the time and attention that the gantthead community deserves from a department head/SME.

It has been a very gratifying experience to be a part of the design, launch and development of the PMO Department. Having an outlet for writing based on my experiences as a consultant and manager has been wonderful. Getting input from many professionals who also wanted to share their experience was also a real treat.

Last November, gantthead indirectly made it possible for me to have a wonderful trip to Sydney Australia. ESI International, a Project and Program Management training company, visited my gantthead department and asked me to be the keynote speaker at their conference entitled "Implementing a Project Management Office." My keynote was entitled "Identifying Mandatory Prerequisites for Implementing a PMO." I also had the pleasure of running a workshop on "How to Implement a Project Management Office." ESI did an excellent job organizing and managing the conference. I met so many terrific people that I hesitate to mention anyone specifically.
