Does Employers Have Challenges Finding Project Management Staff?

We have high unemployment in Australia, however in some areas with high SME it could be challenging.

Kevin - tell me about it!!! Finding good SMEs is a challenge, I would actually like to read or write a paper on the Project Success heavily depends on having good SMEs.

Yes. It can depend of several factors as:
1) Project Type / Area,
2) Kind of resources
3) Seniority needed
4) etc...

Diogo - yes, those and many other factors...

These days it's hard to find good PMs, those that take the time to follow standards! Some people believe that following criteria can take you more time when in most cases is the contrary.

I doubt there are issues finding staff, the issue is finding effective or competent PM staff. I believe PMI has published a few times that there is definitely a gap given the volume of projects out there, but as usual with such gaps, it might be a result of supply/demand imbalances in certain industries and regions.

In a low unemployment context, there is a problem matching resource required and resource available or willing to move that has the expected experience.
