Is this worth looking at as another beginner certification to have under your belt? Is this also updated in terms of how it relates to the PMBOK v. 6?
I know this is more basic than the CAPM. Just curious if it's worth looking at to get another certification on the resume. Would it be better to start here or directly with CAPM?
For beginners, I see the CAMP, CompTIA Project+, and APM certs suggested. Saving Changes...
Depends on your level of experience and background in project management.
I came from a technical background and had no business experience. So I really struggled with the CAPM material initially. But then I began studying the CompTIA Project+ which framed project management in an IT context. This was easier for me to absorb and acted a stepping stone up towards the CAPM. But if you're not working in IT then the Project+ will not be of any great benefit.
The APM from GAQM is a VERY basic examination. It covers 9 of the 10 knowledge areas of the PMBOK (leaving out Project Integration Management).
If you're looking to add an entry-level PM certification to your resume that will not require any credential maintenance - It's not too bad. But if you're hoping to learn something new - the APM will not teach you anything that the CAPM does not cover in greater detail. Saving Changes...

Hi Brian,
I have CAPM, Project + & PMP certifications.
My initial plan was to appear for PMP exam directly, when i was studying through i wanted to tested myself with CAPM first then to move on to PMP. I cleared CAPM on first attempt i took only 100 minutes to complete the test,so again i wanted to tested myself before PMP so looked for the exam around and choose Project +.
Project+ is relatively an easier exam compared to PMP. Also Project+ didn't helped me in anyway with respect to PMP exam
I would rate as follows (easy to tough)
CAPM, Project+, PMP Saving Changes...
