KB is most useful in Support organizations of a company. They just live on it. In project organizations KM is a bit challenging. Those lessons learned become Organizational assets and act as Inputs for many processes but most of PM methodologies really don’t mandate to stop and check “Lessons learned from previous projects". There is no real Quality control to see if you really learned lessons from previous projects or not. So Executive or senior Management support is very much required
