There are so many Black belt in six sigma and if they can not implement it due to higher cost then what is the use of been certified and no one else in your organization no green belt to instruct them.

I think it might takes more years till it become so common and required by many manufacturers.

Riyadh some manufacturers strive to be six sigma don't they? So they would need certified black belts who should know more about six sigma than anyone else on the planet.

Simple example
To achieve Six Sigma quality (99.9997%), a process must produce no more than 3.4 defects per million opportunities. A "defect" is anything outside of customer specifications.

I used to tell my ISO 9001 clients you can strive to six sigma, but how much you are going to invest and is it worth?. Think about the break-even point of a defect, profit and cost.

It is achievable for sure in sensitive manufacturing (nuclear, pharmaceutical) but always remembers that your cost could be much higher than the loss of a defected product opportunity.

When we start to learn new things as human being we are operating at 1.5 - 2 sigma, with time and training we can reach 3+ sigma on a scale of 0 to 6.

Type "A” personalities strive for 3+ Sigma performance or an error level 5% or less. Human behaviour can be pushed to Sigma levels above 4 through simple checklists, mistake-proofing or poka-yoke techniques, visual management, and standardized work.

Why you need to black belt: It is mainly to play karate and improve the performance to near perfection of 99.9997%.
