There are so many Black belt in six sigma and if they can not implement it due to higher cost then what is the use of been certified and no one else in your organization no green belt to instruct them.

I think it might takes more years till it become so common and required by many manufacturers.

LSS or SS certifications don't require a company to be achieving six sigma-level performance. In fact, most companies which introduce quality programs based on LSS would draw the line well before six sigma as this stratospheric level of quality is not cost justifiable.

While a BB is definitely needed to mentor GBs, they are also needed to independently facilitate and execute complex or larger scale LSS initiatives.

Kiron, I have seen it that companies trying to introduce this, mandate training for employees, and hire Black Belt and just few months he would be gone and the project would be forgotten

Riyadh -

just as some companies jump on agile as a fad and end up dropping it after a year or two, if companies just go through the motions of improving quality, they wont reap the rewards.

This is one of the reasons why you need to be careful when someone says they have a BB - if they worked for a company which really embraced quality (e.g. Motorola, GE) then you can hope that it's worth it...
