Seems like the paranoia about IP is a little over-warranted. I have yet to see a book take such lengths to protect copyright. I get it, but when it comes to the soft copy, downloaded by it's members, they should allow some basic features for learning and practice.

Yes you can do anything on the downloaded documents, not even highlight or mark them and put notes which is always disappointing. You can basically just read. I do not know how to read without putting notes :D

Kevin -

I got mine last October but I have to say I'm disappointed in the printing quality relative to the previous edition.

I don't like the grey paper they've used though I get that it is to prevent loss of IP. I also dislike the extremely thin paper they've used - perhaps they wanted to fool folks into thinking it was fewer pages than the Fifth Edition!

I also would have liked to have got the Agile Practice Guide in hardcopy with it the way you do when you download the softcopy from PMI's website.

But I always prefer hardcopy for dogearing and marking up...

Kiron
Kiron,

What do you mean by loss of IP ?

I agree with you, the paper is too thin and the quality is not good and being Grey makes your eyes tired and you get headache when you read for a long time. When you mark on it too with a highlighter, it shows on the other page sometimes. I am old school and like hard copies to read, mark and put my notes so in a way, I wasn't very satisfied with the hardcopy quality. I prefer that one of revision 5, it was great.

As for the combo, they always had an offer that if you buy the hardcopy for the PMBOK, you get the Agile for free. I did that and bought the PMBOK and Agile combo for a reasonably low price via PMI Store.

My books are all over the place, and I just found that my wife gave away some references books which I collect from libraries around the world.

The smell of books and papers is still attracting me more than pdf.
Pencilling, dogearing, touching, feeling, flipping pages and removing dust are my nostalgic part.

All the mentioned tactile experiences are wonderful; smell, touch, feel, sound, plus the emotional connection and memories with it.

Goes the same for having a nice writing notebook and utensil.

I prefer reading a paper document in most case. But I like to have an electronic version that I can highlight and carry with me at all time for reference.

What are suggestions about the hard-to-read issue of PMBOK v6? ... I am simply trying to decide whether or not to buy paperback or kindle based ... and seemingly 100% of all negative reviews (via Amazon or otherwise) for the paperback, relate to the grey pages and watermark to prevent unauthorized copies, making the guide very hard to read supposedly. ... So ... What are ways "around" this?; are there any recommendations about this issue? (ISBN13: 9781628253825 I believe)
