The work being done to legalize and regulate marijuana. Understanding the current legal status of cannabis and the use in workplace.

There will be many issues of safety concern, is it safe to drive forklift after consuming medical cannabis, are you prepared to deal with this issue/ how to balance between the duty to accommodate and the requirements for fit for the job?

What the new law will mean for the average pot-friendly people?

Dinah, may be same in outcome but Dr. won't write prescription for Alcohol however for recreation cannabis they would, we can not discriminate against health issue in workplace so we are in contact with O.H. & S for guide line of consumption in workplace.
A doctor may also prescribe Percocet, Motrin or any other opiates that make it difficult to function in a work environment. The employee is expected to use a certain amount of judgement on whether they can fulfill their duties. If they cannot, they are expected to not come to work. If they do come to work and an accident occurs, they are at fault.
