Have anyone decoded “The Da Vinci Code” of Project Management Influence score ?

It’s a mysterious to figure out how the influence score increases and decreases
I have seen numbers of posts / questions / answers / connecting with people all these may impact the increase or may not then how about if you want to take a break, a vacation for few days what will happen if you stay away from login and participating. How many point per day you lose?
Someone may ask why would you care, It doesn’t matter if it increases or decreases, I guess it is more psychological for the efforts we put in.

Is the number of generating more traffic impact the influence score?

If you know the algorithm please share it.

I did that when I was at 50, 51, 52. Then I popped up to 53 and kept going up. I have stayed pretty steady even when I do not post for a day or 2.
Looks like you have about 5x the number of questions and answers that I do. So that "heft" may help stabilize your score. :-)

I don't know if message traffic is another factor. I have 265 messages in my inbox and 173 outgoing responses, as another reference point.

p.s. my oldest message is from Dave Garrett, back in Sep 2007, welcoming me to GanttFace and encouraging me to create a profile. :-)

p.p.s. This line was in the welcome message:

"Every discussion posting, wiki update, article review and more are immediately recognized in your profile and improve your Contributor Rating on the site. So everyone will see the contributions to the industry you make over time."

So this concept has been with this site (and it's predecessor) for a long time, and I'm sure has gotten more sophisticated each year.

I have noticed a few things.
- If you present a webinar you influence score shoots up.
- If you submit an article it also strongly affects your score.
- If you respond in the discussion area you score will slowly increase. It also seems to increase a little faster the higher you go.
- Your number of contacts has very little influence on your score after a certain point
- Your badges does not seem to have much of an influence.
- If you do not maintain your activity your score will begin to decrease.
- The commenting on discussions decreases the most if you stop commenting
- The webinars and articles will also decrease if you add nothing new, but this seems to take a long time.

I Think you cover it very well, for what I have figured myself.

I think there is also something about the general level of activity that impacts the result.

I believe it is a bit like a rolling average.

I remember also something about a maximum activity, no number specified. Meaning over a number of posting it is not accounted for the calculation, same goes for other activity for what I remember.

I had actually plateaued at 63 for awhile. Then this morning I was at 64.

I just submitted a template that will be posted later this month. I am interested to see how that affects my score.
