The RMP exam has not changed yet to work with the 6th edition. Therefore you should use the 5th edition. In the 6th Edition there are some changes to the Risk Management section, so I would suggest sticking with the 5th edition to avoid any confusion.

The PMI-RMP exam content outline looks the same.

I know of many people who recently did their RMP exam as per the 5th edition. There is no update to the exam nor to the standard practice.

Hello All,

I plan to take the RMP exam before the end of February 2019. I have had a look at this link supplied by Markus:

https://www.pmi.org/certifications/exam-changes

There is no mention of RMP. Am I safe to assume that the exam will still be based on 5th edition?

Thank you

Adrian

Dear Sir/Madam,

i have scheduled my exam for 30 July 2019, my Member ID is 4738486.

I would like to know for PMI RMP upcomming exam whether the refrence is from PMBOK 5th Adition or 6th Edition.

To put it in more prespective, in RMP exam shall i answer questions based on 5th Edition PMBOK or 6th edition PMBOK.

As you are aware that one process group is added in PMBOK for risk management (Implement Risk Response) and one editional response is added to resk response planning (Escalate).

looking forward for your timely reply.

Of course, you could always prepare and study based on the latest edition of the PMBOK Guide and the Standard for Risk Management. The worse that can happen is that you will not be asked about material specific to the sixth edition.

If you do not pass on your first attempt, you next attempt may well be under the new version.
