Good morning all, I’ve recently been accepted to progress onto the PMP certification, project history and my education has been approved. I’m interested to hear about how individuals have prepared for the exam, which books would you recommend and what lessons did you learn throughout the preparation phase.

The biggest advantage of being a Sr. Trainer for RMC Project Management is that you get the straight scoop from a PMI REP. REPs are given more information about the exam than they give others passerbys... Please be sure you get your information from a PMI REP which has the inside knowledge and experience in getting thousands of people to pass the exam.
If what you write above is true, then it is in complete violation of PMI's code of ethics. You and RMC are getting "inside" information that allows people who take your courses, buy books and test banks to pass because a PMI rep is supplying you with information (perhaps in the form of actual test question samples from upcoming exams) that other do not get.
Because of this, I feel it is my duty to report RMC's violation of PMI's code of ethics as is required of me as a PMP certified professional. I will do so at my discretion.
This is why I find the rise of such overpriced quick fix, binge and purge boot camp like exam prep companies, that incorrigibly are promoted by PMI, quite distasteful and is causing the certification to lose it's legitimacy and the watering down of the discipline of project management.

Hi Dale,
Your responses have been interesting. I think you read too much into my replies, but as a former business owner, I would highly recommend to not lose your cool. As a representative of RMC, the onus is on you and all associates of RMC to always reply courteously and professionally.
With respect to your earlier post, I can understand your exuberance to promote RMC, but some of your statements give the impression that RMC is getting some kind of "insider" information.
The link you just provided only indicates that being a REP only designates you and your company's associates approval from PMI to teach and train PMP prep and other courses for PDUs. It does not include wording at all indicating special inside information.
The kind of reponse I gave is the kind you will get from potential customers, competitors and silent views on this and other forums, so its important to always respond professionally and with facts so that you better promote your services. Especially on online open forums such as this.

Hello all, maybe someone can help me out. Just took the PMP exam and I am very disappointed with the scoring report.
How can an organization that espouses the criticality of "performance reporting" and quantitative analysis think that moving from a quantitatively based scoring system to a qualitatively based system is a good move? Furthermore, how is that more helpful in guiding a person's "continuous improvement" and professional development?
The system seems antithetical to good PM practices.
All that said, can someone help me make heads or tails of how to interpret the qualitative "proficiency" statements? Surely there is someone who's already mapped a range score (e.g. 80-100% for proficient) for "proficient", "moderately proficient "(the most egregious and unhelpful score since it says "may or maynot be within the norm"????) and "below proficient".
Look forward to any answers the community has. Saving Changes...

I did pass (thankfully) and I'm sure I'll let go in time but I'd really love to know at least the number of questions right.
And hey doesn't every good PM want metrics? Saving Changes...
I would recommend Career Academy (http://bit.ly/2fnjzjJ) for PMP and CAPM training and exam prep courses. They have a good price for their annual membership and they are PMI Registered Education Provider (REP). Career Academy is an institution that offers online on-demand video-based learning solutions for IT Networking, Cyber Security, Project Management and Office Professionals.
