Good morning

My fellow colleagues, I have recently had my PMP application accepted (end April), to date I still have to pay my application fee and schedule my exam, is there a time limit in which I must pay before the process is null and void, also, once I have made payment, do I have to schedule my test at that time or can this exam be scheduled at a later date. Your comments are appreciated.

Julie -

You have one year from when your application was approved to pay, schedule and then write the exam. You can certainly pay and then schedule the exam at a later date - payment is made on PMI's website whereas the test scheduling is done on the Prometric website.

Julie, As Kiron said, you have one year to pay and sit for the exam (Up to a maximum of 3 times). Review the exam handbook.

Good luck Juile.

Yes, scheduling and payment are both within the same activity. You will choose a Prometric testing center and look for open available time slots. Also be aware of a potential request for audit upon payment submission.

Just a note, due to the potential audit and the (we hope it does not happen) possibility of not passing the first time, I would suggest you not wait until 2019 to schedule your exam. You want to give yourself plenty of a buffer.
And it can also be a little challenging to find the slot the you want at the testing center. If you are looking for a specific day of the week or time of the day you may need to schedule a bit further out.
Good luck!!!!

To add to Dinah's information above, you will find out if you are going to have to go through an audit as soon as you pay for your exam. Once you submit everything for the audit, and everything checks out, you will get an email stating you can schedule the exam. I was "chosen" for an audit and it took me a little over a week to get everything together, but since I was at that location for over 7 years, it was easy. If you have to track down multiple supervisors to validate your work/time towards certification requirements, it may take longer. Good luck.
