How I did it was:
I took an online course through Learnsmart.
Then I bought an exam prep book and read through it doing the quizzes
I downloaded a PMI-ACP quiz app to take short 10 question quizzes throughout the day
And finally I took as many online tests as I could find

But it will all depend on how you learn best.

A lot depends on your starting point. If you have years of practical experience working on projects following different agile delivery approaches, you could go with a self-study book like the Mike Griffiths or Andy Crowe ones and get practice with a bunch of sample exam questions.

If you have much less experience then an ACP prep course of some kind might be advisable.

You might want to start by taking a sample exam to start to establish a baseline for yourself...

"PMI-ACP Exam Prep" book by Mike Griffiths + Agile Practice Guide + Fastrack = best chance of passing the exam.

I did the following

As part of my job duties, I attended many seminars and training sessions on Agile. Also I use Agile Scrum & XP extensively at work. This helped me reduce the amount of preparation required

As far as preparation goes:
Thoroughly read PMI-ACP exam prep book by Mike Griffiths at least 2 or 3 times
Give some mock exams online (free/paid). I used Whizlabs.com and the exams are good enough to cover all the aspects of the exam.

How did you find Whizlabs.com questions. I am preparing for the exam. In many of the sample papers I am getting more than 80% but in few of them I am getting stuck between 60 to 70. Do not know on which sample test I should rely upon.

80% on low quality simulators mean very little, the best simulators are Fastrack and Prepcast.

Do not rely on any one test. None of them have the same questions you will find on the exam. I had a few tests that I kept getting low scores on. Just review the answers that you got wrong and figure out where your thought process was off.
I tried as many practice exams as I could from different vendors to get the broadest spectrum of questions.

I had a long discussion with my mentor on this. Thought of sharing his suggestion. PMI has suggested 12 books for the preparation. Most of the prep courses will be based on these 12 books. They try to cover as much of concept from these books as possible. But Agile is not a methodology. It is a mindset. There are principles and values, which need to be internalized. Sometimes, when we read these books we may come across some contradictions - may get into confusion which is right and which is wrong. But it is not the question of right or wrong. It is how we build the Agile mindset and internalize the principles and values. So reading these 12 books, or whichever we can get hold of, will give the right perspective.
