How effectively does the Aerospace Quality Standard AS9100D formulated by IAQG address the Quality management aspects as defined in Project management in the context of Aerospace and Defence Industry

I realise that both are different from each other and have been called to address different needs, however what I am interested in is the possibility to establish a connection between the two. Though International Aerospace Quality Group (IAQG) has defined the standards of quality of Aerospace products, how well is it connected to management of Aerospace projects producing such products?
