I was scheduled to take the CAPM online via a proctor on Friday, May 18 and the exam failed upon launching. Now, Pearson Vue and PMI are making me wait three to five business days to investigate the issue, which means I can no longer take the fifth edition of the exam, as planned, since this will push me past the deadline for doing so. Despite my pleading with one person at Pearson Vue and two people at PMI, they would not let me go to a testing center before the deadline to take the exam. The reason for the exam failing to launch is most likely due to what they call a "machinery failure", they told me. As this is due to no fault of my own, I feel them making me wait--and locking me out of my account--is outrageous. I will not have to pay to actually take the exam once the investigation is over, but this is really doesn't make me feel much better, as I now need to study for the sixth edition. I will certainly be taking the exam at a testing center once they complete their investigation.
Finally, I want to point out that neither Pearson Vue nor PMI was apologetic about what happened, instead, the proctor was militant and his tone was accusatory. What a discouraging experience for someone who is trying to break out into a new profession. I've done nothing but study and think about the exam and dream of a project management career for two years! I certainly want to prevent others from going through the hassle and pain I experienced with Pearson Vue, and PMI over this issue. Saving Changes...

Wayaki - did you take your new test yet? Best wishes to you! The exam monitor told me that he believed we did flood the system back in May. Pearson Vue seems to have a reputation for overload with the CAPM exam.

You will enjoy it a great deal. I've watched the video twice and printed it out also. I've now memorized 17 processes out of the 49 flow chart. I am almost up to execution. It has helped me tremendously versus looking at the chart in the PMBOK and reading about it.
Also - I will be creating my own summary and write down the flow from start to finish in a narrative as if I was teaching it to someone else. Explaining each process step by step from Initiating to Closing. Being able to explain it and remember the process flow will allow me to better understand it more naturally.

I give myself between 4-6 months. Sooner the better all depending on how quickly I grasp the information.
This video I want to share has been absolute gold to me. I've watched it twice and so far I can nearly memorize the processes up to the end of the Planning stage. Not only has this helped with memorization of processes, but it's really helped me understand PM as a whole and how everything ties in to each other. I downloaded and printed the chart from his website as well. Wish i had color at work, but it's still a great tool.
Maybe this can help you so you can see the small changes from what the PMBOK 6 brings in terms of the knowledge areas.
So far in my studies I am on chapter 2 along with studying the above video ahead of time. My work hours does not leave me much freedom so I figure if I can get 1-2 hrs per night or at least focus on a single chapter per day, this will allow me to eventually get through the PMBOK twice. I also am taking a course through Udemy to get the credits and have section quizzes to work through. I have an app as well that has practice exams to utilize once I'm ready to tackle more testing of my knowledge.
Not going to rush myself though. Slow and steady wins the race. I'd like to aim for above average scoring on majority of sections, if not all for the exam.
Thanks for video--it's a great reference! Sounds like you have some fantastic studying techniques, too. You're definitely going to ace the test when you take it! Saving Changes...

Hi again, everyone - I wanted to let you know that PMI offered me a free re-take of version 6 of the CAPM exam (there was no charge for the "technical failure" of the corrupted exam version 5), but after studying all summer for the new version of the test, I passed yesterday with flying colors. Thank to everyone for your support! I'm so excited and proud to be a part of this industry! Saving Changes...

Hello,
I had planned to take the Online proctored CAPM exam on 25/01/2020 and take care about every single piece of procedure.
However when I started to begin the exam I could not see the exam.
I saw the time was run out for about one hour and I was nervous so left the office and went home.I login to my PMI account and found a message says" they are apologize for problem becuz the web site's server has a problem"
This is fair till now.
However I wrote to [email protected] to re-schedule for me WITHOUT paying (becuz it was not my problem).
I am wait for [email protected] reply!!!
