Well this will sound corny but I have found that it works quite well. If you or any member of your team are familiar with a little known tv series that came out back in the late 60's called Star Trek. You can find a wealth of project names to choose from. Basing them on Ships i.e. Project Intrepid springs to mind.. Project Prometheus or you could use planet names Project Vulcan Project Risa Project Rigel Get creative: Project Starburst Project Sunspot Project Gamma Project Epsilon
The end result is a cool project name never hurts. In fact you may find that it will boost moral. You could even design a quick contest with your team to devise a winning name. Look at it this way you have over 30 years of information to choose from or build upon in just one lil area. You could also use Greek mythology, country names, or even create entire new words. ( personlly I would use the ship names only because they give the mental image of powerful, team oriented and able to get the job done.) Saving Changes...

Project Name should be close to the purpose which the project serves. We may tend to go for catchy names, but may not help always Saving Changes...
