I came across education provider from Udemy who claim that you can get PDU for the course but when I put the name on PMI claim page no registered education provider came up, I wonder such claim from non REP could increase the chances of an audit
Is it worth it to submit the claim or just play it save and submit only from REP where they have a code and once you put info every things pop up with specific distribution of the PDU on the triangle Saving Changes...

1- Contact Udemy and see why they are putting faulty info. Maybe there is a code afterall.
2- I would submit it to PMI even if it was not an REP. After all, if you get audited, you have all supporting documents I assume.

Rami, actually, I did contact Udemy and the course owner said that it is costly for them to pay fees to get registered as education provider with PMI and said you can claim the PDU.
However, it is only 9.5 PDU so I wouldn't risk it, I have other courses and they are REP and they have proper code. I have bought other courses for general knowledge but you know they are not claiming PDU for it so it is more transparent and it is your choice to buy or not.

I did claim PDU for one of the courses done on Udemy and it got approved. And I agree with Rami, even if it's audited, document proof can be provided with details.

Jaleel, I don't like the hustle and bustle of getting into that.
When you check the bottom of the page for each Udemy course there is a REP number, and even Activity This can be checked on the PMI site before purchasing the course.

Sante, thanks for pointing that out I just trusted that when they mention this course you can claim pdu I thought they would be a registered but again we deal with assumptions in the project, this is lesson learnt / next time I will look for that REP number.

I agree with Rami. Does it come up when entering the REP number instead of the name? I don't think it is necessary to avoid submitting the claim, but understand the hesitation and not wanting to get caught off-guard.

Andrew, I am glad that you understand my concern, as really there is no urgent need to submit something might not go so smooth like the REP, I will choose avoid for that risk.
PDUs don't HAVE to come from REP's, it's just that the validation process might be simpler when you submit a PDU claim when it relates to an REP offering.
I am not saying that PMI might not change this in the future, but they have never used the REP as an absolute gate on PDU submissions.

I thought the same as well because you can read a book ( related to PM, Leadership, management) and you can still claim it

Kiron, I appreciate your comment and it might goes well but as you have mentioned that the validation process surely would not be simpler as the REP course, so there is a small percentage of risk there and I have chosen to use "Avoid"

I am not sure what the purpose of the PDU’s are (Certification Renewal or New Certification Application?). In both cases, I see no problem like I mentioned earlier but it seems like it is a personal preference for you so if you have another course coming up soon, then that should be finecbut in general and for future to answer your concern, there is no oroblem even if auditied like Kiron said, REP is not the absolute measure.
Something you have to keeo in mind, audits are generated randomly so even if you fill in hours from an REP, you might still be audited so your odds of being audited with or without the REP, are exactly the same.
