What is meant to you to be a team-player?

Can we elaborate more in depth on team-player definitions and qualities?

I see being a 'team player' as putting the good of the group about my own self-interests. For example, I might take extra time to help someone else with their work so it will help a valuable deliverable to be produced faster, even though I don't have to help and doing so doesn't directly benefit me.

My view of a team player is an individual who focuses on the objectives of the team/group and the synergies created by working with others in the team to achieve those goals
