Hi,
Can anyone suggest me good sites or inputs as to how to start as a Pre-sales consultant. any good sites to look for to learn the roles and responsibilities. What to do and what not to do. How much of technical knowledge is required.
Thanks

The responsibilities of that role are going to vary a lot from one industy to the next (as much as one sales job varies from another). I would say search Monster or some other site where you are likely to find job descriptions similar to what you are looking for. You probably have more detail on the industry you want to be in, what would be sold, etc. and can get a better feel for the actual jobs by narrowing your search. If you really keeping it as open as you describe below, then you can search for "pre-sales" + whatever responsibilities attracted you to this type of position in the first place.

Best of luck!

A pre-sales role will require a significant level of technical expertise. Typically, the role involves someone that can develop the solution at a reasonably high level. Tasks would involve working with the customer to determine needs; define the solution; establish a cost basis; engineer the technical approach; etc. You get the idea...

To add to that, if it's in IT services, knowing programming, estimating goes a long way to build your pre-sales role.
