A Project Team has a performance rate in which half of the assigned tasks are completed each day.

If at any given moment of the day the PM asks the project team for a status of the 600 tasks assigned, how many remaining tasks would they have after four days of work?
(the calculation is done from the moment in time the PM is checking the status report)

A) 300 tasks in the log
B) 150 tasks in the log
C) 37,5 days in the log
D) no tasks remaining in the log
E) none of the answers above

Sandeep - C is not the correct answer.

But, you can still try to answer the number of remaining working days.

I ended up with C too considering the total work days are 4.
Rami - C is not the correct answer.

Also, the number of total working days is not 4.

But, you can still try to answer the number of remaining working days.

I think this is a nice exercise seems obvious at the very beginning.

Just a few reminders...

1) The team daily performance is 50% ("which half of the assigned tasks are completed each day."
2) The current status reporting is done at the end of day 4 ("after four days of work")
3) The number of tasks assigned is 600
4) The initial question is asking for the number of remaining tasks, not the number of remaining days.

Since no one, has got it totally right yet, I would extend the question...

The number of remaining tasks is?
The number of remaining days is?
The name of the project manager is? :)

Maybe I'm under-thinking this but I'm going with D. They had 600 assigned and can complete 1/2 of them each day. Seems like they'll have them all done in 2 days. So by day 4 they'll have zero.
