Multi project timelines in one view

Hello all,

I have been looking for optimal solution to creating multi project/ program timelines with a horizontal block for each project/program. MS Project can handle single timeline very nicely and I am looking for a tool that is able to create similar timelines in a single view.

I have been using excel/powerpoint to achieve this and due to lot of manual work, I also tried automating it, however its still significant work to maintain something like this.

I know that the Gantt view can be customized to achieve what I am trying to, however I would like to see if portfolio managers have any better solution that they rely on.

Appreciate your thoughts/ suggestions.
