Remote Capture of Activity Progress

certain activities involve on site customer support or
field trials at remote places. How to capture work progres
on a daily or real time basis? What kind of tools and technologies to be used
while ensuring confidentiality?

Daily? First thing to do is to understand the timming. In out case we use TBM then we capture progress weekly because it is our trimming. On the other side, if you are talking about support we are based on ITIL then reports about daily progress and SLA are taking for the tools we use which is free.

I was asked by our client to create a room in Ms teams and add all inspectors as members so he check the site periodically. I believe the same can be used by PM to track the progress onsite remotely.

We use it. Just to comment, it demands to take into account that if you use a schedule (activities plus activities relationship) it can not be represented in Tasks in MS Team. We put it on line and each one take the activity it is assigned then when she/he complete it update the activity.
