Today I lost my cool not once but twice. First with my immediate supervisor when he told me a more junior person was going to get an opportunity that clearly (in my mind)should have been offered to me and then later with a project sponsor that moved the delivery date for a project up a week without telling me but going to the development team directly and telling them.
I think I was justified in both cases to get uptight and I am not the type of person to lose my cool however both of these things happened within an hour and I guess I just lost it.
Now I am miserable with regret and I imagine I have created a reputation for myself as a cry baby. Is there a way to salvage what I have done? Saving Changes...

Yea - two things - First go to your boss, and very clearly tell him/her that you would like to have a similar opportunity, and want him/her to consider you more strongly next time. Then ask if there was anything you could have done better which would have shown him/her your skills in those areas. Keep emotions out of it, you are there to just state your abilities, and ask if there should be any improvement in their eyes. Second - go to the sponsor, and tell that person that you cannot guarantee resource allocation if you do not know of the changes in the scheduling. (Despite what was done behind your back.)THEN ask if he/she could explain the change in scheduling to you - even though you may already know the answer. Then go to your team, and inform them that they are not to accept any changes without the changes coming directly from you. (I am assuming you are the project manager here.).
I've been in your spot - the ONLY way you are going to clean up the reputation is to storm in immediately with results, clear thinking and action. Then make absolutely sure you don't do it again, even if you have to leave to go beat up on a tree or something. Good luck to you!!! Saving Changes...
